When this started, I would’ve never guessed it was going to be so well written.

Everything about that was brilliant. First, in just a few pages, Shiori was turned from a disappointing potential villain into a very sympathetic character, much to my relief. I was worried about that because I really didn’t want to end up disliking her, but it was handled very well. And then Naruto not only got out of the situation, but did it in a way that was so heartfelt that he even surprised himself, and I suspect that both he and Shiori are going to get some character growth out of it.
It was all just very well done, and very impressive, especially for a manga that started out as unpretentiously as this one did.
