My strix 17’s brick connection is donezo. No arcane angle or arrangement of wires will maintain connection, especially under load. I start zapping things in PoE2, and my power hard connects and disconnects in gut-wrenching stutters that I’m sure is doing nothing good for the 3070 Ti.

It has an advertised 100w thunderbolt connection in the back. I was 2 points shy of an A+ cert, so I’m not totally dumb here, lol. G-helper swap didn’t fix it. There is no option anywhere in the Bios (usb is grey, no usb4 or thunderbolt option.) The device manager is bingo on drivers for the thunderbolt and there is no evidence of its existence in the usb4 slot. No Intel drivers for the thunderbolt (allegedly baked in to w11.)

I plug 140w mac charger with 240w usbc cable into the dp usbc and get a cool 16ish watt charging. Drains under load (presumably activation of gpu.) I switch cable to the thunderbolt usbc on the back, and I get nothing. It data transfers my multiple monitor setup, but no go on juice. It appears to only do data.

Did ASUS outright lie, or do I need more voodoo. Yes, I know the answer is Linux, friend, and I’m close, believe me, but right now, I just want to play bg3 with my mates. Is there no high wattage connection for this machine. 2022 g733zw strix 17.
