I’ve never used an esim, and dread the possibility. I greatly appreciate the simplicity of being able to swap the hardware without involving a third party. Are they even possible to set up without a second working phone?

I like being able to get a new phone and insert a SIM and it just fucking works. It doesn’t seem possible but I think I’ve had the same card for a decade and about 4 phones.

eSIM are convenient for travel but little else.

After my introduction to esim, physical sims all the way! My carrier fucked up moving my number from physical to electronic so bad, they had to give me a second esim so they could unfuck my first one and I could get my number back. What should’ve taken less than 15m, ended up being a 2h process

SIM cards because the end user has more control avoiding the extra steps involved with acquiring a plan.
