STOP SURVIVING. START LIVING AWAKE.
How many nights do you collapse into bed, completely exhausted, and think, “Where did the time go?” You were moving all day—working, answering messages, helping people, handling responsibilities. Yet beneath the exhaustion lies a haunting question: “Did any of what I did today actually matter?”
Are We Drowning in Distraction?
This is the quiet sickness of modern life. We have become so mentally wired with whatever we think is making a living that we have stopped asking: How are we living? We might spend our best energy reacting to everyone else’s urgencies while completely neglecting what God has placed right in front of us.
The Diagnosis
Phones, careers, social media, endless news, and even empty religious routines—going through the motions of "church activities"—are competing for your soul. Have we forgotten that busy does not necessarily means fruitful? A full schedule does not hide an empty spirit.
Psalm 90:12 cuts straight to the root: “Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” Notice that the prayer isn’t for more hours in the day; it’s for the spiritual clarity to stop wasting the time God has already given us.
You cannot say yes to everything. Every "yes" to a meaningless distraction is an automatic "no" to something sacred. If you continually say yes to the noise of the world, you are actively saying no to God, no to your marriage, no to your family, no to your health, and no to your true calling.
The Wake-Up Call
Strip away the excuses and the spiritual masks. If you would let Jesus diagnose your life right now, how you spend your time, your energy, and your attention, what would He actually see?
Would He see a life lived with fierce intention—or a life numb and distracted? Would He see someone anchored in God—or someone burning out, trying to run life in their own exhausted strength?
The Prescription
Real balance is not about juggling everything perfectly. Balance is about spiritual alignment. It means letting God establish your priorities and having the courage to bring your daily choices in line with His voice.
Look at Jesus: He was never in a rush, yet He accomplished everything He was sent to do. He lived with radical clarity—knowing when to work, when to rest, when to serve, and when to walk away from the crowds and withdraw into the quiet to stay connected to His Father.
If you are tired of running on fumes, stop and confront these questions before God today:
What is silently consuming my time and draining my soul?
What needs to be ruthlessly cut out of my life right now?
Am I truly becoming the person God is calling me to be—or am I just surviving?
A life well balanced is not a passive accident in a vast Universe. It is a life lived awake—purposefully, deliberately, and fiercely connected to God.
