I FINALLY finished my socks! :)
I got sick after I'd finished the first one and most of the second, so the second ended up languishing a bit. But I had brunch today with a couple friends and I managed to get 'em done! They're made with scrap yarn and as you can see I made a real effort to ensure they didn't exactly match. Mission accomplished.
They're quite comfy. Why worsted isn't a more common weight for socks, I don't know. (Yeah yeah, kinda thick for regular shoes, but this is why you gotta bust out of those and wear shoes that let your feet move </soapbox>).
Okay well I may have spoken too soon about the joy of my worsted hand knit socks! (above) I'm wearing them for real today, and am trying on my shoes with them. Most of my shoes, even the roomy wool barefoot ones, are REALLY snug with these suckers on.
The one place these worsted socks are great is, as expected, in my Birkenstock sandals. Which will work for me personally, as I wear those for over half the year, but for any knitters inspired by my shouting "WORSTED FOREVER" from the rooftops....maybe keep this in mind. :)
