I miss being in the autistic online community. Especially when the mastodon migration (from Twitter) took place, it was pretty lively here. And I learned a lot. Community being the best expert / counselor on all things neurodivergence. But after while I felt I had heard most of the things that we say to each other. Read a lot of interesting research that is being posted, discovered a lot of concepts and traits and views, that had given me a pretty diverse picture of our divergence. And there are so many other things, that interest me. But I miss the atmosphere. The mutual support. I was reading autistic/neurodivergent stuff exclusively. It was the atmosphere, that was most healing.
I wonder. Often this kind of connection is forged by shared suffering. And I wonder, why that is. Maybe we have this amount of suffering in our world because we do not understand how to connect. How to be one. And only suffering gets us there.
I want a mutual support - society. Do we really need to suffer this much in order to understand? @autistics #ActuallyAutistic

@autistics I suspect a bunch of people got this post wrong . I am not suffering or wanting more autistic people to follow. The post was about a quality that self help or mutual support communities have, and that I wish all of society had, as it is urgently needed . If we want to survive we need to learn to be supportive of one another and create this connection, even if we don't have a shared suffering. And the rampant suffering we see in all kinds of people will continue until we do.
@autistics And that is the limitation I feel with such single issue communities. We need to extend our found sense of connection outwards. That is how healing really works. It makes you safer in the world at large. More connected. Not just in an In-group. That's just the first step.
I actually have kind of found the same limitation in any group revolving around a galvanizing issue.
I've explored the perspectives and the intersections of them. I've found languages to speak about being a woman, being autistic , being an unpaid care worker, being this being that. But ultimately I need something else entirely.
A movement of healing and of interconnection, that includes all specific issues and finds a new definition for being human. I am bored with the single issue spaces. I'm a hyperempath . I am neurodivergent. I am bored. I am a woman. I feel connected to all of you out there. I am seeking a language. An open space.
And I am aware that this is a matter of survival of the species. As well as of me as a person. And if I suffer, I suffer as that. Not as an individual person, but as someone who does not have lids to close her eyes nor her sensitive fibers of connection that run every where they should not. Not in the current system of belief in separateness. I exist as a mycelium. An ecosystem of shared breath. Spanning the forest floor of my fellow humans. I hear. I feel . Substances run through my fibers, making me aware of need.
When I leave any such single issue - single perspective group, what I miss most is a language. Briefly, I shared some words with some people. It's always a relief. The connection that runs through the fibers of my being finds resonance in a conscious space of shared experience. In every other instance, that connection is not conscious in our western patriarchal capitalist culture. It remains in the dark, below every ones feet. And while we all root in it, we have forgotten how to nurture it and unite with it.
I am forest mycelium. As such, I suffer, whenever a tree falls, it's a part of me. But I suffer not individually.
The difference I can't explain Not in normal words. I'd have to use woowoo terms that are void of meaning in a culture were spirituality is one more item to be bought and sold an build a disconnected ego around.
I am screaming, I am whispering. I am alive, but I feel very weird exploring this in this invisible space, where integrity of all living beings still exists and will always exist but seems to be outside of all categories that our culture has to offer.@pathfinder ( writing this, I realized maybe I should tag you🤔 )

As autistics we naturally think outside the box, mostly because we don't even see it. We are also pattern chasers. It means that we connect and see things in terms of a much bigger picture. Especially when you add in our sensitivity and tendency to retain our ability to feel and connect with things outside of the human world on many levels.
Unfortunately NTs tend to be far more human centric and to compartmentalise even that into small boxes of carefully separated and guarded understandings. Even their very language, that we all use, is geared towards this purpose.
It makes seeing the interconnectedness of all things much harder to see and really come to terms with and the problem of single issues and solutions being one more of design than inherent.
