Bit of a getting-to-know-you thread.
We see each other's usernames and avatars all the time, but rarely know what's behind them.
So:
Username: Is there a story behind it, or did you just pick something random? If there's a story, what is it?
Avatar: Is it related to your username? If so, how? If not, why did you choose it?
Random names, old nicknames, jokes that made sense at the time, all fair game. Curious to read what people come up with.
WerewolfAX@forum.vivaldi.net 19 hours ago I guess mine doesn't have that much mystery about it. Since my early childhood, I like werewolves. (And wolves and dogs too). And that probably came because I live not that far from a place where the famous 'Morbach Werewolf' originated and my grandmother told me stories about that pretty early - then came some Werewolf movies and so on ... yeah ... follows me in a lot of aspects in my life, personal and even professional life alike.
But since the name "Werewolf" alone is pretty much always taken, I have to Append an Xtension to it. 😁
Avatar should be no suprise then: Just a wolfman rendering.
But fun fact:
The banner in my profile and the picture that sometimes pops up in the Vivaldi.net Community Member Rotation (here is the card) is an actual, unedited real picture of me. (Background is just AI extended for the profile banner because the original pic was portrait, not landscape, but the pic itself is me). Proper FX makeup there. 😁 (Or maybe just a full moon? 🤨 )
TbGbe@forum.vivaldi.net 1 day ago crossandroads@forum.vivaldi.net 1 day ago Thought I'd start with mine. I'm crossandroads
partly inspired by Tracy Chapman's Crossroads album (I was a fan when I was young), and partly because it reflects some difficult crossroads I've been through in life. I made it through.
It's also about the cross I chose and the road I picked to walk when I stood at one of those crossroads.
As for the avatar: I just like navy blue, indigo, dark blue and anything aesthetically pleasing in those colors.
So, your turn : )
Reclining Buddha
My avatar shows the Buddha on his death-bed. My avatar is of the Reclining Buddha close to the Mahāsi Meditation centre. There are many other famous statues in Burma and elsewhere. The photo below is of a famous image in Pegu.

On his deathbed, the Buddha said that the best way to worship him was to practise his teaching properly.
