I did think that the whole “superheroes are organized and attend multi-year academies for hero-ing” was an interesting, distinctly-Japanese premise. The series has its flaws, but it was a much more enjoyable watch for me than the last MCU or DCU movies I watched. I thought that it ws really fresh to follow along with "super"heroes who are only a little super, rather than the larger-than-life characters that US superhero media is usually trying to construct, and watch the more “realistic” perspective on the actual logistics of heroing.

Mine is definitely the perspective of someone who is much more into anime than into superhero fiction, though.
