@blight I did not pass secondary schooling (due to depression and lethargy, not smarts) and never had any computer education in school other than the basics of using Microsoft office software.

I love computering though, and have learned a lot about how they work and how to configure them without formal education.

I remember putting together my first computer when I was maybe 14? It was a fantastic experience and I wanted to build another one so bad, and I saved up my money and put together a much better one when I was 16-17.

I played steam games on Windows 7 for a long time, and I had used Ubuntu a bit when I was maybe 12 but didn't do much with it. I finally for back into Linux when I was maybe 20 with Archlinux and oh my gosh it was amazing. I felt so powerful. Having a computer that does what you want it to do is one of the coolest things.

I used a few different distros since then and I've settled on Alpine Linux now and all of my computers do all the things I want and not what I don't want, and I get to configure it all and learn as I go.

I've never done proper programming, but at one point I was reasonable proficient in bash scripting.
