Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 3 weeks agonot only that they are expected to be on thier own by 18, or when they finished college. while women can stay indefinitely as long as they arnt mooching. when men are allowed to stay home in thier 20s, or longer they are often seen negatively more than a women doing it, providing they arnt moouching.
I get what you mean but your numbers feel like they are from 30 years ago. I don’t think anyone is expected to be on their own at 18 or even after college anymore outside of the dickish parent. I think its just drags on the individual if it drags into the 30’s or worse reverts in the 30’s. I was not really independent till 28 and that was long ago and I still ended up living with a relative for short spates on two more occasions. one was when I was almost 40 and married.
