Gab is definitely better than gettr

Contentwise not. The content is kind of stale. Gettr had the clever/dumb idea to copy the public tweets of major celebs and put it on their platform - kind of like a Twitter mirror/archive. I follow Disclose.tv Rogan, Pool, AndyNgo, JordanPeterson and a few others on Gettr.
I love Gab technology and the hardwork of the founder.... but man, its sparse in interesting stuff to see.

Most people, especially prominent ones don't want to be associated with Hitler memes and Holocaust never happened memes.
Many people want there to be sites that allow that stuff.
So free market suggest there is room for a twitter which isn't woke and doesn't allow alternative world war 2 narratives.
There is clearly also room for gab because they just keep growing .

You are 1000% right. Any platform can still be called "far right" "neo nazi" etc to stop them from growing.
To tell the truth, Gab's reputation was totally assasinated by the mainstream, just like Parler.
If you go on Gab today, you won't find that kind of stuff. I still occasionally go there.

Occasionally I'll see a repost of a really good meme then follow that account. A week or month later that account will share Nazi memes. Its there, they just have the attitude its the users responsibility to unfollow and block whereas other platforms feel its better to ban so its never seen.
The left are pretty good about doing trigger warnings, spoiler warnings, nsfw warnings , but right wing white nationalist want to slip in their memes incognito
And Andrew Torba is based. Very based. Very blessed.
