Sure, give me a single example where a chromecast device was taken off the chromecast protocol. Even their original Chromecast Audio device which was discontinued and taken out of production still functions to this day.

Cast protocol is only one of the many many things that you can stream through a chromecast device.

It’s a remote controlled web browser. It supports stuff like Netflix because the DRM support is maintained. When that stops it will get Blurayed and old players will fail to play new content
