For people who grew up with recent anime I can see that being the case. Compare this with any modern comedy, like shikanoko, and it’s night and day.

My favorite comedy anime is Gintama, which I think is even slower than this a lot of the time.

But I’m loving it so far. Lots of subtle laughs in there.
