I mean I get why you aren’t but you’re still an asshole for it. If you didn’t want to go into debt you could have work to not take out loans as well. You took the easy route and are fucking your siblings over for it.

For what it’s worth I truly do understand why you don’t want to “throwaway” 5k. That’s a choice to be made between you and your SO but I also think this should have been something you guys talked about earlier in life that you may have to do this so that it wasn’t dropped into their lap in the middle of life.
