CanofBeanz@lemmy.world 10 months agoIn a fantasy land that would work great, but that is realistically a project that would totally dwarf the great wall of China. Getting residential solar is way more practical and useful than covering land with panels nevermind the ecological disaster that would be.

At first, just our city heat islands become more so. Then the North African nations realise how much money can be made exporting green electricity. And competition brings that ecological disaster closer.
