I had a similar problem and I’ve resolved it with Tasker; it’s different from yurt need, but I guess that you can work on it I’ve created an automation that disable notifications except for phone calls between 10PM and 5AM AND when the phone is connected to a power source AND it trigger when I place the smartphone face down.
