It looks like this one is going to fall into the same spot for me as chainsaw man: a show that’s clearly well-made and interesting, but that I can’t really enjoy because I’m pretty sensitive to gore and body horror. I might check out the manga, since I tend to do better with static pictures than seeing it in motion with sound effects.

It’s interesting to me that this is labelled as a shounen anime, because it seems to me like it’s aimed at an older audience - the 30-ish crowd that can relate to Kafka’s life experience.

Overall, great storytelling, pretty good animation, solid character building, too much viscera. 4/5
