ITGuyLevi@programming.dev 2 months agoGiven they were required to add an interface to back up your recordings back in the 90s (I think it was the 90s), I’d kind of agree. The DVR itself makes a crappy long term storage, but the spirit is akin to a VCR, totally intended for saving video recordings.

FireWire was a standard/semi-pro video interface back in the days before HDMI. I thought it was just standard to have them on older equipment.
