If anyone is wonering, it’s Jael or Yael, and Sisera. He was a defeated Canaanite general who fled to what he thought was a friendly village, but Jael had Israelite sympthies so she hammered a tent spike through his head while he slept. The image is from an illuminated 14th century manuscript from Germany.

That was not usually part of the medieval illuminator’s mindset, I’m afraid. Communicating the social status and role of the two Biblical characters in a familiar context for the reader would typically have been more important to them.
