I have a blog and a gallery on my own domain. I just want a system for people to interact and recommend my blog and photos that isn’t WordPress, and that is so damn hard to find.

Some kind ring that looks webs together?
None of that is new, it’s just not profitable and so we (humankind) dropped it.

Webrings were cool but flawed. I’d like something like tumblr, where you can comment and @ someone, but in a federated system where each would manage their own.
I thought about using Mastodon as a comment system for my blog but the tools to accomplish it are way over my head. I’m not a developer, just know how to install a CMS and to tweak some HTML and CSS.

Blog pingbacks have existed forever but for different purposes
Somebody has actually implemented a Bluesky commenting system too already

I got on BlueSky and there was some great content for recipes and news and I didn’t notice any racism or sexism, but couldn’t seem to keep my feed empty of furry art. Nothing against furries, do your thing, I just am not personally interested in seeing a cartoon fox-man railing a cat-lady in between a killer recipe for smoked deviled eggs and a news blip about something cool James Webb discovered.
I just know I’m going to be talking to someone at a BBQ about how much Hungarian paprika to put in the deviled eggs and I’m going to lose my appetite to an intrusive image memory.
