that’s an interesting backstory, thanks for sharing it with me
hopefully this will all be over soon, and the devs can go back to making firefish/iceshrimp/whatever a good and worthwhile fork

I’m also at the wait and see with iceshrimp. my general pref software-wise here would be hajkey but atm they’re committed to being soft fork from firefish because their own dev capacity limits but if iceshrimp devs are legit working on the security issues etc then likely hajkey will move to them imo. Just wish I have enough technical acumen to play around and spin an instance whichever software it is.

I on the other hand wish I had the monetary resources to spin an instance, because I think the *keys will need twice (or more) the amount of ram lemmy needs. (from what I remember, dcx said monyet.cc has 2gb of ram.)
