Qt is exactly why I’m so sure. They made sure that there was a legal agreement that Qt would always stay open source or else they’d get the ability to make it available under a BSD license: kde.org/community/whatiskde/kdefreeqtfoundation/

That’s a project that understands the entanglement and doesn’t allow itself to be taken over.
