I gotcha. It seemed entirely off-base, considering the generally well thought out defederations. This defederation confused me enough to wonder, but I’m happy to be told otherwise. Loathe me some dramabear.

Meganium97@lemmy.blahaj.zone 10 months agoWhat? No way in hell. Our admins have expressed genuine hate for hexbear, and the community agrees. Hexbear has had a track record of antisocial transphobic users who will do anything to get offended at anyone, for any reason.
Basically, they’re 4chan and Twitter, but only the bad parts.

I’m confused, and you seem to know what’s going on.
Are you saying it’s trolls with hexbear accounts? Or it’s trolls originating from Hexbear that make accounts in your instance to troll?
.world defederated from them months ago so I’m out of the loop.
It’s just seems like defederating and something like requiring emails for signups would fix that.
