I don’t have the gaming bandwidth to play the old school shooters these days, but civvie’s videos are more than enough to remember what made them great, what made them suck, and where they innovated or did clever things you never noticed.

If you find the old doom games a little too old. Why don’t you check out the brutal doom mod as it really pumps up the first 2 games and gives them a lot of modern gameplay elements. Seriously it makes them feel really fresh

I’ve been playing them recently. GZDoom + Brutal Doom really improves the game, it’s very customizable and só satisfying. I’m loving it.
