If you’re lending or giving someone a book, you’re limited by the very physical nature of the fact that it’s an actual book. That’s not the same as pirating digital content or copying a book (which requires physical resources and costs). Your disingenuous attitude might work on children but it’s unwelcome in this discussion.

You haven’t answered it, you keep implying the person is doing it for profit or the people would be buying the books from the artist.
If they had no intention of buying it, how’s the artist losing out…?

Yes. That is revenue, not profit. And it’s still true and the point still stands. You’ve done nothing to argue against that point. You’ve just made dishonest comparisons libraries and lending things to friends which isn’t the problem.
