MrMusAddict@lemmy.world 11 months agoIt’s because Lemmy strips EXIF data. Depending on the phone, rotations are only saved in EXIF data as opposed to saving a new image.

Editing photo on the phone (just resize or crop a bit) before upload usually helps.
