I’ve looked into the frames a few times. They’re a bit of a niche product and I guess for elderly people because they absolutely max out at 1080p. The displays are awful.
I have a 10+ year old 10" photoframe with wifi and Bluetooth - I’m surprised how much I like it.
It rotates through hundreds of photos - each photo has a name with a date, so they serve as reminders of places we’ve been, things we’ve done.
On a good day it simply shows what’s in a network share it has access to. Sometimes it pykes and I have to reset the wifi on it.
I didn’t even research into frames, but might if I like the feel the feature on the TV.
Just to be clear, I don’t run it all day just to look at photos. Rather I have it show the photos on startup in the few minutes that I might take to select something to watch.
I have a Uhale 32" that’s mounted to the wall with a 1 TB USB drive. You can send pictures from your phone to the frame, or load up the USB drive. It’s pretty doggone neat. They do make a 21" and a 15". If I remember correctly the 32" was right at the $300 mark. At one time I did utilize the TV as a frame.
I feel assaulted. LOL
