Shattered Pixel Dungeon is amazing and I feel like it might be what you’re looking for. It’s also FOSS (but one time payment on iOS)

It’s landscape. Specifically I’m taking care of a baby a lot and can’t hold a phone in landscape mode with one hand.

  I’d second shattered pixel dungeon, its all turn based and a really fun game with tons of depth. (Especially if you like roguelikes etc) It also works fine in portrait, I only play it like that. Here’s a screenshot from my phone: Screenshot_20231105-203053_Shattered Pixel Dungeon
