First Contact is legit excellent. So are cats named Tuvok.
Comment on The original series has an endearing flair for the dramatic
Ashyr@sh.itjust.works 1 year agoInteresting. I legit thought First Contact was excellent. I’ve gotten multiple people into Star Trek using that film as the gateway.
There was a family of the most normal people you can imagine and I showed that film to my friend, their eldest son. The next thing I know they have a cat named Tuvok and are dressing up like away teams for Halloween. It was awesome.

Hmm, I am going to try to bribe my wife to watch it. After her sitting through 4 Stargate seasons, she doesn’t trust any sci Fi recommendations from me anymore. 🤪

Oh man, if you didn’t show her Window of Opportunity, you definitely should. That’s how the show got its hooks in a lot of my friends and family.

First Contact is the best TNG movie.
It continues threads from the series with Picard dealing with PTSD from being assimilated and with Data wanting to be more human. It is probably the most cinematic of the movies, both in acting and in cinematography. You also have the A and B plots working well together.
