i don’t know a single PC user that doesn’t have a camera/microphone, and the technology is all there. its just laziness on developers part. And by “developers” here, I of course mean the bean counters that decide what the actual devs work on.

pete_the_cat@lemmy.world 11 months agoMost desktops don’t have microphones, although all laptops do. I guess it was never deemed useful enough since a mouse and keyboard have been fine for decades. Text To Speech was created as a way to assist with “arduous” text input on mobile devices with small screens.
