I think it’s pretty well established that people upvote primarily what they like and agree with. I would like it to be different but most people like it that way.

Absolutely.
Anyone who says they don’t have a bias or assumption is very vulnerable to have their bias and assumptions exploited.
Anyone who thinks they’re immune to propaganda is most at risk of being persuaded by it.
