zeejoo@thelemmy.club 4 hours agoBut they’re ugly because of specific choices they made to wear what ends up looking like a fascist clown costume. They chose this look. They’re not being made fun of for things outside their control.
The vitriol and anger that led to those aesthetic choices also led to unhappy marriages. That’s the joke as I saw it.

Most people in this comment section are mocking their physical attributes, not their clothes or hair or anything they might have control over.
This meme is directly implying that their husbands would rather sleep with other men, rather than with their wives, because they find them so unattractive.
If thats not your interpretation, then thats not your interpretation, but a lot of other people here read it differently.
I do agree that they make awful fashion choices though

That’s fair I haven’t been reading the whole comment thread. There’s definitely plenty of meat on the meme bone for jokes about the ugliness of the maga aesthetic without it degrading into misogyny, but it’s too bad people are acting that way.
