MissesAutumnRains@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 week agoI don’t know that I agree with this. I’ve used the term ‘lizard brain’ a lot, but I had no idea it was rooted in this study. I just assumed it meant a more primitive train of thought, particularly one in a state of panic. It’s obviously important to dispel misconceptions if you have them, but I don’t think saying ‘a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush’ is going to irreparably alter someone’s idea of economics just because the value of birds doesn’t literally match the metaphor.
