Comment on Westerners, what's your impression on the Chinese Diaspora? And what does the people around your area of residence think of the Chinese Diaspora?

This is the first time I’ve encountered the word “Diaspora” outside of the social network. Seems to just mean migrants. Why would I think anything of them?
