Seattle was built by digging through the local hills and dumping them into the bay. Half the downtown wouldn’t exist without these massive eartworks done a century ago.
Still plently of hills left to start backfilling if needed.

Seriously. i don’t get the methodology here. Sea levels could increase ten feet and Seattle would lose like 5 city blocks. The AVERAGE elevation of Seattle is 180ft above sea level.

Sea level is irrelevant. This isn’t about water rise, but the land itself sinking (compressing). This can cause damage to infrastructure, buildings, and alter where areas lie in the water table (potentially increasing flooding).
