The presence of the minions itself. When it is known that:
- people roll their eyes at memes involving them, especially here.
- they generally add nothing to the meme
- used by boomers a lot on Facebook
For me, here’s what I was thinking when I saw this meme:
- wholesome-ish meme
- minions? Ew. What was the choice behind using them?
- the community is Lemmy shitpost?
- oh LMFAO it’s a nod at Facebook memes.
- funny.
