dhork@lemmy.world 5 days agoMaybe, in the Before Times when people could agree on facts. But what about when one side has their own, hand-crafted “alternative facts”, along with a media universe that amplifies them? Then this all falls apart, because they insist their made-up facts are true.

A big part of the problem is to generalize the worst parts of the respective communities. Yes, there’s people that indeed don’t care about facts, and you’d waste your time with them. But there’s a larger amount of people who do.
