It’s an April fool’s joke from… 50 ish years ago. Hypertext teapot control protocol. Status code 418 was supposed to be what happens if you try to get it to brew a cup of coffee. It cannot brew coffee, it is a teapot.

“This is a Wendy’s” is a response to wildly off-topic remarks, similar in case to 418

  That was 100% me transposing the numbers xD I thought it said 1989 for the joke, it was 1998
