  That is not at question. The regime can say whatever it wants. It does not preclude Minnesota from exercising it’s authority to investigate, indict, and prosecute. It does not change that while the feds may resist investigation, Minnesota will still treat us as a state crime. The state has the resources to do it without federal cooperation. They would need to move the shooter to a secure location where he could not be arrested. That is extremely difficult to do in the US so long as there is someone able and willing to execute the warrant in any state.

    I forgot to say this in my previous response: I’m sorry that this happened in your state and I hope that Minnesota can do exactly what you’re describing. I heard the AG of Minnesota, Keith Ellison, talk on Democracy Now!

    Wherever the shooter is, the state of Minnesota needs to take custody of him and any evidence. State-level courts need to try him for the homicide he committed. Minnesota needs to convict him at the state level.

    If he’s only ever federally charged, the regime could try the case to appease public opinion. Even if he was convicted federally, -2 could/would pardon him.

      I would not expect a federal indictment, and Hennepin County is already putting together the materials required to sue the feds for the evidence, possibly sue the FBI, sue ICE and make an indictment. Thankfully any crime that breaks federal and state law can be tried in both courts. It’s one of the rare occasions where this loophole is beneficial.

      These things take time when done properly. The DA’s office working with the AG means this will go quicker, but it won’t be satisfying unfortunately.

      In the handbook of fighting fascism, strict adherence to policy is noted as extremely effective. Additionally, if the system in Minnesota works as it is intended to work, then we are able to reinforce faith in the concept of our justice system, rather than resorting to the barbaric sham trials the fascists would use.

    Will they? Maybe I’m already misremembering events (I’m not), but it seems like the state authorities are giving up on any investigation. Quote:

      That’s where the DA of Hennepin County and AG come into play. Unfortunately that will take time and this is something neither of them will get wrong. Worst case scenario they are able to find obstruction.

      From my understanding the BCA did not “give up.” They have literally been prevented from accessing the scene, they have been prevented from acquiring any gather material, etc. They could not get access independently and can only request joint investigation.

      Keith Ellison is damn good at his job. Let him cook.
