I’m perhaps wrong but if they sell the oil at a ‘bad price for them’/'good price for Trump, while paying for the whole infrastructure themselves, then they could keep 100% of what the u.s. leaves them, and then use it for the good of the venezuelans.
It depends on how much the u.s. intends to rob them, but if it’d then leave them in peace despite their direct democracy and egalitarian values, i’d like to naively hope that the u.s. would then leave them in peace, foolish perhaps. But D.Trump does weird things, he could very well call it a day, although i’m unsure for future presidents.
