TheRedSpade@lemmy.world 3 weeks agoAn old word for “towels”. The “linen closet” was where the towels were kept, and the few times I heard “linens” the people saying it were referring to towels.

You know what, that makes sense. It’s one those things that you don’t hear everyday so you have no reason to investigate the meaning.
