In theory next year the EU will compel them to allow side loading. I look forward to an f Droid type platform for iOS.

I know, but iOS is still garbage. (I used an iPhone for 3 Years, recently switched to GrapheneOS) iOS is essentially spyware, if you can, move away from Apple. GrapheneOS is better than iOS, Stock Android and most Android Custom ROMs. It’s probably the most private and secure mobile OS in the world. Secure enough that even Edward Snowden uses it.

Seconding Grapheneos!
With an f Droid on iOS, I expect to be able to show my friend’s new pipe, simplex chat, real Firefox, hell maybe even briar.
It’ll lead to a better and more open ecosystem, even though graphene is the gold standard.

True, those who are stranded on closed and proprietary operating systems deserve help. I just want to say that sideloading won’t suddenly turn iOS into a customer-respecting, private and open plattform.
