Comment on ASUS plans to produce RAM amid shortage problems
kkj@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 day agoCXMT just recently demonstrated the ability to manufacture RAM chips. The existing supply is all from Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron. A fourth player should increase the supply.

I looked up cxmt as I wasnt familiar with it. It’s from mainland China, while Asus is from Taiwan, do they want to sell the limited supply to the rivals?

Sometimes, business is business. Samsung sells displays to Apple, and recently, Samsung refused a RAM order from Samsung Electronics
