MrStankov@lemmy.world 1 week agoThe “incentive” will be selling the appliances for cheaper. Amazon was/has been doing this with Kindle readers: you can get it cheaper in exchange for ads on the lock screen.

That’s true, but in my experience, people that have landlords and people buying their own major appliances are two demographics that don’t overlap.
