Sadly, currently the situation is very bad. I was a searxng user till maybe last month, and now you basically can not use it. google returns nothing, ddg rate limits shortly, brave does same, bing and yahoo return random gibberish. startpage, leta and many other frontends return errors.

Works fine for me as well. Using public instances can be hit or miss. I just installed it locally, which I get is not possible for many, but it does work. Try lesser known instances.
