Not remotely similar to dungeon meshi. The first season was lighthearted fun. The second season, after a not so bueno beginning, has managed to capture most of that. It’s essentially a slice of life juxtaposed against the modern fantasy isekai. No stakes.
If you enjoy the absurdity of everyone being a gourmand, including fantasy creatures, then this will fun for you. If you are super cereal and must have a world ending disaster driving your narratives, then this is not.
