For me, the problem is not that you’re soliciting, it’s that you’re redirecting people towards a closed platform (Discord). If your forum were fediverse enabled, like bbnode or piefed, it would be so much easier for people to interact with you.

I hear ya. It’s all I use discord for. The community has been around since 2010 so it got built all around discord.

Have you considered making an alternative social sport on the threadiverse. For more asynchronous discussions and as a backup location in case you have any discord issues?
