This is not a temporary occupation. People in Mariupol are Russian and want to be. Things are better than during the independence, and way better than when the DPR was part of Ukraine

They have Russian passports, they are welcome to fuck off into Russia if they don’t want to live in Ukraine.

Yes they are indeed free to go to any country, contrary to the people on Ukrainian territory who are not allowed to leave the country.
The DPR and LPR do not want to be part of a country that bombed them in 2014 after the coup and again in 2022. They declared independence for a reason

They did. They took all their belongings including their real estate and moved it into Russia.
