They put “Republic” in the headline as if we all just know what that refers to.
Per wikipedia:
Republic is a British republican pressure group advocating the replacement of the monarchy of the United Kingdom with a de jure parliamentary republic.[2] It is a member organisation of the Alliance of European Republican Movements and is the largest organisation solely campaigning for a republican constitution for Britain. Republic states that its mission is: “the replacement of hereditary monarchy with a democratic republican constitution”.[3] As of 2023, Carol Lever is the current chair of Republic, and Graham Smith is the chief executive.[4]

Well, that campaign group has been in the news off and on for over 40 years and was covered extensively around the last coronation due to the pre-crime arrest of its leader and incredible police claims that people carrying sellotape and luggage straps were “going equipped to lock on” and those with paper, ink and paint were “going equipped to commit criminal damage.”

Have you considered following the news and learning about the country despite not being required to take a citizenship test? Yet! 😉

Not in the slightest. News occurs to me naturally via diverse sources, I don’t go looking for news about republic campaigning groups, and clearly succeeded in never finding any. Except this reference today. Which I’m emotionless about to be fair. Andrew is a disgrace though, I don’t disagree that he should be dragged through the same shit a commoner would if found noncing
