Grimy@lemmy.world 5 days ago100%. Big reason why cigarettes should be banned as well. You can say people are allowed to make their own choices, but it’s the healthcare system that ends up overloaded. Other people are dying for their choices because they take up a bed in the cancer ward 20 years earlier then they should.
Can’t imagine them banning bacon though.

So the funny thing is that smokers are typically less strain on the healthcare system because they tend to die young.
